- ➤ Businesses on Walnut Street in Johnson City are preparing for a special event to mark the completion of a $33M project that created a pedestrian-friendly roadway with the city’s first separated bicycle lane. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. and a celebration will be held Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.—the project lasted five years and upgraded underground utilities to better connect downtown with ETSU.
