  • Fender’s Farm reopened this weekend nearly one year after Hurricane Helene flooded the attraction—volunteers, donations and long shifts restored its rides and features such as a gigantic sand pit, piggy track and new playground. Officials said the farm has returned to its usual schedule despite the storm's impact.  WFHG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Department of Human Services updated SNAP work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents yesterday—those aged 18 to under 65 must work, volunteer, or complete job training for at least 80 hours per month to keep benefits, while eligible customers with exemptions should upload verification documents via the One DHS Customer Portal by October 31.  WCYB
  • Tennessee and Virginia attorney generals joined a federal lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation—accusing brokers of using fake accounts, software and proxy servers to let scalpers raise ticket prices and shut out fans; the complaint filed in California alleges that Ticketmaster sometimes facilitated resale on its own platform while violating the federal BOTS Act, and the case will move forward in federal court.  WFHG
