- ➤ Warner Music Nashville artist Chase Matthew will headline the Pepsi Independence Day Firework Celebration at Freedom Hall in Johnson City (with Preston Cooper opening the show). The event will feature a new beauty pageant at 11 a.m. (food trucks available before the concert, a Kid Zone opening at 4 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m. with Bristol Broadcasting’s WXBQ on the soundtrack). - ➤ At the Paris Air Show, Howmet Aerospace leaders joined Governor Lee to announce the second expansion of its Morristown plant — a move that will bring 217 new jobs in addition to the 50 announced last year. - ➤ The Carter County Sheriff’s Office proposed to use restricted funds to buy new equipment for additional officers and help keep taxes low after residents suffered from Hurricane Helene.
