  • The Bristol YMCA Little Floaters program is expanding through Tennessee as the YMCA Alliance trains instructors in Greene and Unicoi Counties to bring water safety lessons to local Ys. The program teaches children 1-4 to float and control breathing to boost survival skills.  WCYB

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • TDOT and VDOT are preparing for a major winter storm expected to disrupt travel in the Tri Cities this weekend. Crews will work around the clock, and drivers are advised to stay home + allow roadways to be treated safely.  WFHG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Johnson City's water and fire officials advised on Wednesday to prepare for the weekend storm by leaving faucets on drip, opening cabinets, and disconnecting garden hoses to prevent frozen pipes. They urged residents to check water shutoff valves—crews are ready with generators to handle any short outages.  WCYB
