On Tuesday, Dec. 23, Ashley Furniture’s Hope to Dream program surprised 10-year-old Maylee Williams, who is undergoing chemotherapy, by donating a queen mattress, dresser, $500 check, vacation package, and Speedway in Lights tickets through Speedway Children’s Charities.
The holiday donation reflects the store’s ongoing commitment to giving back.
On Tuesday, Ashley Furniture donated sixteen sheet sets through Speedway Children's Charities & the Hope to Dream program to organizations including Sneedville Angels and East Tennessee Christian Home and Academy in Elizabethton to meet ongoing need for essential items.

Tusculum University announced a new scholarship fund Monday to help first-generation students with military family ties.
Named for alumna Col. Jo Anne Kilday ’59, the fund supports veterans + their descendants and honors her service.

Veterans in Greene County are seeking to expand the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery as it stopped accepting new burials six years ago — local officials have unanimously approved a request for Congress to consider the change.
