- ➤ Second Harvest Food Bank is distributing Christmas food boxes today to help families still recovering from the SNAP pause and rising food prices in Northeast Tennessee * officials said. The food bank will serve 5,000 people by 3 p.m. WCYB
- ➤ ETSU associate professor Eileen Ernenwein used drones with a LiDAR sensor and a thermal camera to help locate possible unmarked graves at the historic Citizens Cemetery — a segregated burial ground from the 1800s — in Bristol. She will continue research with cemetery board volunteers to better map the site. WCYB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bristol city leaders said in a statement that the ATSDR report based on 2020–2022 data is flawed because it predates recent remediation projects including engineering improvements, odor mitigation systems, and halted waste collection—authorities will continue air monitoring and urge residents to report any odor concerns.
