- ➤ The Washington County Tennessee Animal Shelter has accepted financial responsibility for a cat that was found frozen to a manhole cover in Jonesborough and is now receiving care at a local vet hospital—police and fire officials quickly responded to emergency calls while the shelter seeks donations to help cover ongoing medical costs until the feline is ready for adoption. - ➤ A new Tractor Supply store in Bristol embraced Giving Tuesday by supporting local firefighters and paying pet adoption fees to help families bring pets home for Christmas — store manager Michael Wright said the actions showed small efforts can make a big difference. - ➤ TDOT announced that State Route 159 and US Highway 321 in Carter and Johnson Counties have reopened after Hurricane Helene closed 49 sections of roadway. Officials said 48 sections, including bridges, are open now—restoring travel for drivers—after repairs were completed. WCYB
