Second Harvest Food Bank held a grocery drive outside Elizabethton High School for SNAP recipients facing benefit disruptions – the event used six distribution lines to process hundreds of cars in a few hours.

Volunteers from Carter County and local groups helped run the drive, and more events are planned this winter to support families in Northeast Tennessee.

ETSU kicked off its annual Angel Tree initiative to help local children in need this holiday season.

The program lets students, faculty & staff choose a child’s tag at a decorated tree in the Carrier Center and return donations by Nov. 18.

Ballad Health will offer free low-dose CT lung cancer screenings in November for patients who have smoked 20 pack-years and have a physician’s recommendation.

The screenings are part of lung cancer awareness month and are supported by the Ballad Health Foundation + aim to catch the cancer early.

On Nov. 7, the Buccaneers faced the Lady Vols at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville and lost 97-47—extending Tennessee’s all-time lead in the series while ETSU players gained key experience.
