- ➤ The Gabby Foundation + the Children's Advocacy Center of Sullivan County are accepting toy donations for their 6th Annual Christmas Toy Drive that honors Gabby Kennedy and Kristina, who died in a domestic violence shooting in 2020. - ➤ Fred Kemp, an advanced EMT and rescue technician with 28 years of service at Washington County/Johnson City EMS, died on Tuesday during a training exercise and officials said they will provide more details later. WCYB
- ➤ A government shutdown has raised fears that SNAP benefits will end after Oct. 31—putting many families at risk of food shortages. Regional food bank leaders warn that Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia could see a growing need for assistance if lawmakers do not reach a deal soon. WCYB
