The Stuff the Bus campaign began in Bristol to collect school supplies for students returning to class.
It held a stop at 175 Lee Street on Aug. 4 and will continue at 255 Marketplace Boulevard in Johnson City on Aug. 18.
🎓 Education
Washington County Schools is still looking for bus drivers as the new school year begins — five routes are covered by substitute drivers while applicants finish required training for permanent positions.
The Washington County Board of Education unanimously approved a display of the Ten Commandments in one prominent spot per school after a Tennessee law passed in May.
The board will determine specific locations in upcoming meetings *to meet state guidelines*.
