Shearer’s Foods will close its Bristol facility on July 31, affecting about 155 employees.
The company will keep team members on payroll through Sept. 26 and host onsite job fairs to connect them with new opportunities.

Tusculum View Elementary School Principal Lana Luttrell & Elizabethton City Schools Director Travis Thompson were named for Principal and Supervisor of the Year categories.
🏥 Health
Ballad Health announced it purchased 15 acres for a new Unicoi County Hospital and will hold a groundbreaking on August 19 to rebuild the facility damaged in the 2024 flood.
The replica hospital will cover 40,000 sqft with 10 beds, costing $25 million (FEMA and TEMA funded most of it).
