Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a serious crash on Highway 11E in Piney Flats — the crash near Rock Lane at 10:04 p.m. led to an extended road closure.
Sync Space Entrepreneurial Center is using $1.2 million in state and recovery grants to support over 200 local businesses and development centers by improving resources and workforce development in Sullivan, Washington, Greene and Unicoi counties.
The center—partnering with the state through the Launch Tennessee Network—will use additional funds to boost digital skills and expand access to capital for local entrepreneurs.
Carter County planning director Chris Schuettler gave a tour of a proposed quarry site in Hampton where planning commission chair Sonja Culler said no cameras were allowed because the property owner requested privacy—heavy equipment had already begun drilling on about 10 acres.
Officials and residents remain concerned about transparency as county commissioner Todd Smith said he still awaits further details from Schuettler.
