Raising Cane's opened Tuesday morning in Johnson City where customers lined up since Monday night to receive gift baskets and win free Cane's.

Twenty winners earned free Cane's for a year + the store donated $2,000 to Washington County Animal Shelter and hired nearly 140 employees.

Yesterday, the Washington County Sheriff's Office hosted its fourth annual Champ Camp at the Appalachian Fairgrounds, where over 70 kids learned officer skills including K9 demonstrations, safety driving courses, and equipment reviews — the event was free through donations.

A Johnson City resident launched a website mapping prospective data center sites under the new zoning rules and identified two possible parcels at a 200-foot setback & none at 500 feet.

City officials plan to release the data at the July 16 meeting as residents request clearer guidance.
