CRIME NEWS

  • A third party company handling electronic print and mail for Ballad Health discovered its servers were hacked four months ago—files with personal information may have been compromised—and law enforcement was notified while customers were urged to review their financial records.  WFHG
  • Carter County Sheriff’s Office charged three people with 19 counts of animal cruelty after deputies found multiple dehydrated animals without clean water or food in pens and a storage shed—officials from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the local animal shelter later removed additional reptiles and other animals from the property—addressing severe neglect conditions.  WFHG

  • Johnson City's planning commission will hold a public hearing tonight at 6 p.m. at the Water and Sewer Services Complex on its Horizon 2045 growth management plan—designed to address a projected 24% population increase and a shortage of 5,500 housing units—to gather resident feedback before its expected early September adoption.  WCYB
