Jonesborough Days celebrations continue today at 10 a.m. in Jonesborough as thousands gathered earlier to mark our country’s 250th anniversary, with families enjoying parades, treats, and local vendors + horses.

Brunch Box, a local food truck, celebrates four years in business by unveiling its new homemade donut called Glazed and Confused at Elizabethton's Covered Bridge Celebration from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, and any unsold donuts will be donated.

Officials urged boaters to exercise caution on area lakes this Fourth of July weekend because drought conditions have exposed hazards such as shallow coves and points – an accident on Watauga Lake prompted the warning.

They stressed wearing lifejackets and having a sober operator at all times.
