  • Farms across Northeast Tennessee welcomed visitors this weekend for the Appalachian Farm Tour — a chance for families to learn about local farming — as 22 farms from Greenville to Blountville took part, including several in Johnson City.  WCYB

  • A Beechcraft V35 crash-landed at Tri-Cities Airport Saturday morning when its landing gear failed during touchdown—officials said—and TRI crews fixed the runway after it was closed for two hours.  WFHG

  • Leo Mahmodian, owner of Crazy Tomato who moved from Iran in 1978, said in an interview on Monday that he supports strong U.S. measures against Iran to curb terrorist threats and hopes future changes will give more freedom to its people — he recalled his lasting family ties back home.  WCYB
  • Northeast Tennessee residents with homes severely damaged by Helene must apply for Tennessee property tax relief by June 30—only 47 percent of eligible applicants have submitted forms, leaving $3.5 million unclaimed.  WCYB
  • Johnson City is launching an initiative that will use empty downtown buildings as temporary art galleries and provide micro-grants to help new businesses start up + officials expect this plan to attract new visitors, families, and residents.  WCYB
  • The Washington County school board cut planned teacher raises to cover a $4 million shortfall after receiving less funding from the county commission, which has prompted questions about the allocation of a recent $16 million tax increase. Superintendent Jerry Boyd said the decision will strain next year's budget and stressed the need for a more productive relationship—officials from both sides hope future talks will improve cooperation.  WCYB
