- ➤ The Carter County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding Sheila Ferguson, a 60-year-old woman who last contacted her family on May 19 and suffers from a medical condition that may affect her ability to return home safely on her own; she is 5-foot-6 and 145-pound and is believed to be traveling on foot. - ➤ Authorities from the Tennessee Highway Patrol — Johnson City Police Department, Kingsport Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office — warn residents about a text scam that falsely claims an unpaid traffic ticket and urges payment through a link, so they should not respond if they receive such messages.
