ASP is preparing to open its Appalachian Highlands Volunteer and Training Center in Washington County.
A ribbon cutting will be held on Friday, June 5 — the center will offer training areas, meeting rooms and lodging for up to 130 volunteers while also hosting construction and repair classes for the community.
On Tuesday, June 2, Washington County Isaiah 117 House hosted a fundraiser at Boones Creek Christian Church to support children waiting foster care and raise nearly 20,000 dollars for care services.
Support Coordinator Katie Wilt said the event upholds their commitment to future generations.
🏥 Health
First responders from Sullivan County gathered yesterday in Kingsport for the Battle of the Badges blood drive — 170 donations were collected as the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office led the effort.
The drive continues with another event scheduled for Friday in Abingdon.

Retired NFL pro Daniel Kilgore was hired as the new football offensive coordinator by Kingsport City Schools, marking a homecoming for the Dobyns Bennett High alumnus (he was most recently head coach at Providence Academy).
The Tribe’s season opens August 21 against Knox Central.
