Second Harvest Food Band of Northeast Tennessee launched its Summer Feeding Program Thursday to provide up to 2 meals per day for children and teens under 18 at SUN Meals providers.
The program will run weekly through June and July.

After her Type 1 diabetes diagnosis in March, 12-year-old Kyndall Miller’s family in Carter County is raising funds to buy a specially trained dog to help her manage her condition by summer’s end.
They have raised over $6,000 so far and will hold a $10 raffle in June to help reach their $20,000 goal.
