Scott's Strawberry and Tomato Farm lost topsoil on 17 acres when a flood on September 27 damaged their field last fall, and the family replanted strawberries in a new field by mid October—ensuring fresh produce despite a smaller yield.

Johnson City officials announced that a new hotel and a new Dollar Tree are proposed next to the Food City on North State of Franklin Road+now known as Horizon Lane.
The approved project also includes plans for an unnamed restaurant, but there are no details on the hotel chain.

After a year long internship at Johnson City Medical Center under the Project Search program, five Science Hill High School students with disabilities graduated on Wednesday and are ready for the workforce.
One student has already started work at the hospital while the others will soon seek employment in the community.
