- ➤ Two Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies, Todd Stanley and Thomas Buxton, rescued a woman from a burning home on Throngrove Drive in Kingsport after an initial attempt failed — they returned to safely escort her out without injury. WFHG

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State officials say only about one third of those eligible for Tennessee’s Helene property tax relief have applied after reminders were sent, with more than 2,500 properties still able to secure the payment. In Unicoi County, property assessor Teresa Kinsler said residents will get help to complete the quick application (which can be done in about 15 minutes) (applications must be finished by June 30).
