Strings of Green, a family band featured in last Christmas's News 5 Spirit of the Season, is competing in an online vote contest for a chance to perform at the Earl Scruggs Music Festival.
Supporters must vote by today to help the band advance.
Johnson City's free summer concert series Fridays After 5 begins on June 5 at King Commons Park with eight family-friendly shows featuring The Maggie Valley Band, Donnie and the Dry Heavers and Florencia and the Feeling.
The series runs until July 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
