- ➤ Gas prices in TN climbed overnight as new research by the Institute on Taxation & Economic Policy shows drivers now pay an extra $42 per month with a regular gallon costing over $3.90. Economists say high crude oil costs and speculator reactions to overseas events may drive consumers to opt for fuel-efficient vehicles. WFHG

- ➤ The Tennessee Department of Transportation has launched its Rural Service Patrol program to help drivers in rural areas of Region 1 and expand its HELP Program. A kickoff event will be held on May 28 at the Welcome Center off I-26 in Kingsport. WFHG
