Layla's Hope Elite is a basketball program for kids 16 and under run entirely on donations so every child can play regardless of cost + transportation.

After a fire leveled an apartment complex in Erwin on Monday, six families were left homeless, and the nonprofit HNDS & FEET is raising funds with a $25,000 goal to secure temporary housing, a vehicle for one family, and other essentials.

The former Shoney's building is transforming into The Roan Commons where four businesses, including Taiwan On Bubble Tea, Dae Gee Korean BBQ, Drive + Draft Golf Simulator and Bar, and The Taste Tester Cheesecake Bakery, will open a drive thru option.
Developers say the new space will debut in November.
