  • A local rescue dog that spent six years in a shelter was adopted by a retired firefighter and a grocery store executive from Colorado who flew in and canceled their return flight to bring the dog home to Denver.  WCYB

  • Two companies are planning to build a gun manufacturing plant in Johnson County to produce gun parts and create good-paying jobs. Officials expect the plant to open within nine to 12 months (according to county leaders).  WFHG
  • The nationwide restaurant Smokey Bones closed, a Johnson City employee confirmed Tuesday (corporate response is pending).  WCYB
