- ➤ High Point Elementary staff now use AI glasses that translate Spanish to English in real time — the technology helps during registration to improve communication with Hispanic families. - ➤ West Ridge High School students explored virtual career training—learning about truck driving, welding, and heavy equipment operation—through a workshop partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority. WCYB

- ➤ The Johnson City Solid Waste Division announced two spring cleaning drop-off sites for Washington County residents to deposit trash, e-waste, metal, and bulk items on May 3 from 7 a.m. to noon at Indian Trail Middle School and Science Hill High School — hazardous materials are not accepted. - ➤ Applications are now open for the Governor's Response and Recovery Fund to support Tennessee victims of Helene. Local governments, non-profit organizations, businesses, farmers, and foresters in several counties (Carter, Greene, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington) can apply to receive a share of the $100 million set aside for unmet disaster recovery needs.
