- ➤ Families in Elizabethton will hold a corn hole tournament at Kiwani's Park this Saturday, April 5 at Noon to raise funds for baby Milo, who was born with two rare conditions and had life-saving surgery at Vanderbilt. Milo will need more treatment and later go to a hospital in Boston—his mom Lauren Bowling said he faces a long road of surgeries—while the community offers raffles and concessions. WCYB
- ➤ Residents impacted by Helene went to the Goodwill Tenneva Helene Disaster Relief mobile unit to receive four clothing items and a pair of shoes donated for the storm—its next stop is Greenwood Methodist Church in Greenville at 10 a.m. on Thursday. WCYB

- ➤ A 25-year-old woman was indicted by a Washington County grand jury for vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a 26-year-old ETSU graduate assistant who was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in October — prosecutors say she was driving under the influence at the time. WFHG
- ➤ A fatal crash on Hilltop Road in Johnson City left a female driver dead and resulted in vehicular homicide charges against Daniel Czerwonka, 46, whose van collided with another vehicle at 2 a.m. Monday. WFHG
- ➤ Johnson City police blocked the 600 block of E Fairview Ave on Tuesday night after residents reported hearing two to three shots followed by arguing; officers arrested a suspect and took a victim to the hospital who is expected to survive. WCYB
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At a Tuesday Senate committee meeting, lawmakers debated SB 836 (sponsored by Senator Bo Watson and Rep. William Lamberth) which would require every K-12 school to verify a student's U.S. citizenship at enrollment and charge tuition to undocumented students. Supporters claim the bill will save money on English Language Learning spending while critics and protestors warn it may raise staffing costs and risk federal funding. WCYB
