- ➤ The East Tennessee Community Foundation changed its focus to long-term recovery six months after Helene by establishing the Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund, which collected donations from nearly 7,000 people and awarded over $4 million in grants for rebuilding across 25 counties. In Washington County, a long-term recovery group has rebuilt about a third of the damaged homes and will continue to help residents connect with needed services. WCYB

- ➤ Twin sisters Monika and Teresa Schorer from Jonesborough used to work at the James H Quillen VA Medical Center and pleaded guilty on Wednesday to fraud charges—taking cash bribes for surgical products and agreeing to pay $426,309 in restitution before they are sentenced on July 23. WFHG
- ➤ Timothy Blair had his bail revoked Thursday after he was accused of shooting a Johnson City police officer in the 400 block of South Barton Street on March 12 and faces an attempted murder charge with a court appearance set for June 16 while held at Washington County Jail. WCYB
