A train hit a dump truck in Piney Flats on Friday when the truck stopped too close to the tracks at an active flashing railroad crossing—officials said it tried to back up and no injuries were reported.

TBI said a 52-year-old man was arrested in Orange Beach, Alabama and booked in Sullivan County Jail early Friday in connection with the 2002 murder of Cody Matney from Bristol—he was indicted last Wednesday by a Sullivan County grand jury after new evidence broke the cold case.
