North Side Elementary School received a $14,000 donation from the Johnson City Nissan Cares Program to fund new performance risers for assemblies and concerts.
The donation, made on Monday, Jan. 12, is part of a program that partnered with three local schools at the end of 2025 to support arts education.
Crews at Tennessee High School uncovered a lost architectural detail during roof work yesterday and restored the original eight-inch gold leaf copper finial (from the 1936 blueprint) to its iconic cupola.
Officials say the project brings back historic charm to the building.
